ROOSEVELT RACERS STEM WORKSHOP
THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME
LEARN FROM US
This workshop is designed to inspire 8th grade students in NYC to use information technology to learn about physics, engineering design, manufacturing, graphics, branding, leadership, and teamwork, and then apply them in an imaginative, competitive, and exciting way.
Students have the choice to visit different classrooms/classes depending on their interests. Here are some of the classes the Racers teach:
- computer-aided design (CAD)
- computational fluid dynamic (CFD)
- computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
- non-profit creation and promotion
- entrepreneurship and start-up conceptualization

COMPETE WITH YOUR PEERS
After creating the car, all teams race against each other. In addition to the car's speed, students are judged on their marketing portfolio and social media activity/promotion. All teams will leave with a certificate of achievement, but only the top few teams leave with a trophy.
